Scott’s Bar-B-Que

Yesterday I made about an hour drive from Summerton to try this place and it did not disappoint. I picked up a Pulled Pork BBQ Plate and a family member got the 1/2 Chicken. It was worth the trip. The pulled pork by itself was good, wrapping it in the white bread and dipping it in the sauce puts it over the top. Because it is take out, just be aware there is outdoor seating, but if it is as hot as it has been here lately, plan to eat it in your car.

It isn't what it was. We had a winter place about half mile down the road for 2013 and 2014. We ate a lot of Rodney's bbq. Unfortunately when we ate there 6/6/25 the pork was not that good, the sides were not very big or very tasty. We did get very large portions of pork, but it wasn't even average. Scott's has always been our benchmark for whole hog bbq, but it ain't what it was.

This is the BEST BBQ in South Carolina ! Best I’ve ever had !! Omg ! I tried it today , and I’m still raving about it I live an hour away , but I think I’m gonna have to go back tomorrow! It has this amazing smoky flavor and the sauce is perfect ! It is worth a drive . I’ve got to try their chicken and ribs ! I’m sure they are delicious as well !!! Wonderful food !!

If you're out this way, you have to stop here, it's also worth a side trip. This is the best barbecue in South Carolina and some of the best barbecue anywhere. You just have to go ahead and accept the fact that you're going to need to try everything. The ribs are amazing, the pulled pork is unique, and if they have the smoke chicken you have to get a whole smoked chicken as well. They do it old school and they do it right. You will not be disappointed.

Traveling through SC and lucky to be around the area on a day it’s open, not exactly on our way but we made it on our way. CASH ONLY. Got there early on a Wednesday and tried the chicken, ribs, pulled pork, and the 3 sides offered. That plate was hefty! My partner and I shared and still had leftovers. Couldn’t believe how much food we got for the price. The chicken was great, the pulled pork was AMAZING, the ribs were my least favorite and they were still really good. The vinegar sauce is magical and I want to marry it. The sides were all meh and if I went back I wouldn’t order any but the slaw. The ladies inside were super nice and patient with us because we just wanted everything. Definitely worth going out of the way for.

I heard about Scott’s while up north from a guy who had gone to school in Georgetown. I ordered the pork platter with beans and potato salad and the chicken platter with same sides. Everything thing was delicious, the chicken fell off the bone. Paying was easy with the different electronic cash options.

Just what I expected and needed. Love the simplicity of the pork sandwich. Flavorful, juicy, and not overly Smokey. Watch the sauce, it has some heat.

We knew we were in the right place when we saw the oak wood lying around and the slight smell of smoke drifting. Scott’s combination of oak, cherry and whatever else they use, imparts a great flavor into the pork. The amount of pork on the plate is more than generous. We had slaw and beans, both sides were very tasty. The friendly staff and great food made for a great lunch. We live about 75 minutes away, but look forward to returning soon.
